As cr\u00edticas a eles est\u00e3o aumentando, enquanto os argumentos a favor \u2014 pelo menos para quem vive perto desses gigantes \u2014 resumem-se a apenas um:\u00a0eles geram muitos empregos. Mas ser\u00e1 que isso \u00e9 verdade?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Os\u00a0Estados Unidos abrigam um ter\u00e7o dos\u00a0<em>data centers<\/em>\u00a0do mundo. O\u00a0site\u00a0Futurism\u00a0relata que estados americanos competem para atrair grandes empresas de tecnologia, oferecendo recursos e isen\u00e7\u00f5es fiscais em troca da cria\u00e7\u00e3o de empregos e do desenvolvimento da comunidade. No entanto, fica cada vez mais claro que a promessa de empregos est\u00e1veis \u200b\u200be de longo prazo n\u00e3o tem se concretizado. Bilh\u00f5es gastos para poucos empregos gerados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"678\" height=\"452\" src=\"https:\/\/tvpotyweb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-104.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1598\" style=\"width:468px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tvpotyweb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-104.png 678w, https:\/\/tvpotyweb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-104-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/tvpotyweb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-104-600x400.png 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 678px) 100vw, 678px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Em Cedar Rapids, Iowa, dois projetos de data centers est\u00e3o em andamento \u2014 um da\u00a0QTS\u00a0e outro do\u00a0Google. Conforme apontado pelo\u00a0Centro de Desenvolvimento Econ\u00f4mico de Cedar Rapids, a cidade ofereceu incentivos para estimular a constru\u00e7\u00e3o,\u00a0incluindo uma isen\u00e7\u00e3o de 70% no imposto predial por 20 anos e um abatimento de 75% nas taxas de eletricidade\u00a0(uma sobretaxa municipal inclu\u00edda nas contas de servi\u00e7os p\u00fablicos).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">O Google e a QTS planejam\u00a0investir US$ 1,3 bilh\u00e3o (cerca de R$ 6,5 bilh\u00f5es) em seus\u00a0<em>data centers<\/em>; contudo, a previs\u00e3o \u00e9 que\u00a0economizem mais de US$ 580 milh\u00f5es (cerca de R$ 2,9 bilh\u00f5es) em impostos e taxas municipais. Voc\u00ea pode se perguntar: quantos empregos eles criar\u00e3o? Pelo acordo, as empresas s\u00e3o obrigadas a criar apenas 61 vagas permanentes. Os&nbsp;<em>data centers<\/em>&nbsp;tornaram-se uma for\u00e7a motriz na economia dos EUA, mas h\u00e1 uma enorme diferen\u00e7a entre os investimentos vultosos que as gigantes da tecnologia (<em>Big Tech<\/em>) fazem para constru\u00ed-los e o impacto real no emprego local.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">S\u00e3o instala\u00e7\u00f5es enormes e extremamente caras, mas que, uma vez em opera\u00e7\u00e3o, funcionam quase inteiramente no piloto autom\u00e1tico. As tarefas que exigem interven\u00e7\u00e3o humana real s\u00e3o m\u00ednimas em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com a escala da infraestrutura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">O Brasil lidera a infraestrutura digital na Am\u00e9rica Latina, concentrando cerca de 48% da capacidade instalada da regi\u00e3o.
